A typical Zoom meeting screen shot
The first thing we need to do is to download the ZOOM application to your platform device to be used. Zoom can be used on a mobile phone, tablet or a PC (desktop or laptop). This help page demonstrates the process for setting up on a desktop PC but all the other platforms are similar.
The Zoom application Home Page
After installation open the application and the Home Page screen shown above will be opened. This is the entry point to the Zoom on-line conferencing application. By clicking on the settings button your camera can be checked to make sure it is being used and your audio can be tested. The other default settings can be ignored.

To join a pre-arranged meeting, the meeting organiser needs to be contacted to supply the meeting ID. When in possession of the meeting ID, apply to join the meeting by clicking on the JOIN button on the Home Page. The join meeting request window shown below will be displayed.
. The join meeting request window
The 'join meeting request window' will display the applicant's name in the box marked 'Name'. The meeting ID must be entered into the meeting ID box. The easiest way to do this is to copy the ID from the email sent from the meeting organiser and paste it into the ID box. The supplied ID will look like this: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/ 76732484616 . Copy and paste the whole ID but the http:// will be ignored. Clicking on the Join box will display your request to join the meeting on the organisers screen. The organiser will click his screen to allow the join request. The conference window shown below will be displayed.
